Birmingham, UK-based CBS Packaging have recently taken delivery of the first Eterna ‘E–Line’ in Europe. Manufactured in Eterna’s Shanghai factory, the ‘E–Line’ is comprised of an E Load pre-feeder and E Break two way bundle breaker, in line with a new PE1650 Elite II flatbed die-cutter. The line can operate up to 6000 sph and normally runs with a crew of two operators.

Full pallets are loaded onto the powered roller conveyor and then into the E Load, where the board is shingle fed accurately into the feeder without operator intervention, including the ejection of the empty pallet. The PE1650 SA Elite II is the latest Eterna flatbed automatic die-cutter, designed and built in collaboration with Bobst designers in Shanghai. It has a lead edge feeder, is Centre Line II compatible and has side chase loader. The multi-up, fully stripped sheets are delivered in bundles into the E Break, where they are broken in both directions before being passed out for stacking.

“M & K Trading invited us out to the Eterna Open day in October 2018 to see the E Line,” said Jitha Singh, Managing Director of CBS Packaging. “I immediately saw its potential and ordered it. It’s been in and running now for a couple of months and it is exactly what I expected. The installation went well, with engineers from Eterna and M & K Trading on hand. We are very pleased with how it is settling in.”

“This has been an exciting project for us and CBS Packaging have proven to be great partners to work with on this new line,” added Mike Irving, Managing Director of M & K Trading, who are exclusive agent for the Eterna range in the UK. “We have had a lot of interest in this product and expect a few more orders over the coming months.”
